Yu Yang

Prof. Yu Yang is a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the Institute of Molecular Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is a recipient of the National Overseas High-level Youth Talent Program. He earned his degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Macau and completed postdoctoral training in molecular medicine at the University of Florida. Driven by unmet clinical needs, Prof. Yang’s group develops functional nucleic-acid and genetic-engineering technologies to remodel the tumor and immune microenvironments, enabling next-generation therapeutic strategies. He has published 80+ SCI-indexed papers in leading journals, including Chem, Science Advances, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., ACS Nano, and ACS Cent. Sci. His work has received 10,000+ citations (H-index: 55), and multiple publications have been recognized as ESI Highly Cited Papers. Prof. Yang’s honors include the Shanghai Shuguang Scholar Award (2024), the Macao Science and Technology Award—Postgraduate R&D Prize (2018), the Baxter China Young Investigator Award (First Prize, 2019), and the Veblea Fellow Award (2025) from the Veblea Association (USA). He also serves on professional committees of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials and the Chinese Society of Ultrasound in Medicine, and is a Youth Editorial Board Member for Nano-Micro Letters, Exploration, and Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AJPS).
